Day One Hundred Fifty Six - "Off into the Sunset"
It is the end of an era.. an era where high school always loomed heavy on the horizon. Freedom is now that horizon. Summer jobs or years abroad, both are unconstrained. Free.
While Jessie (Right) is spending her next year in South America, in the mega city of Sao Paolo, I am opting for the much more hardcore summer in Buena Visa.. Colorado.
My journey begins tonight. With an airplane, then a bus, then home.
Which as you grow, becomes something so enthrallingly different and exciting, as if a force pulling you towards the airplane.
While the uploads might become sporatice, the project still carries on as what it will always be: one photograph every day.
Whether you see it or not;)

Day One Hundred Fifty Five - "Back of the Bus"
Just like all the cool kids on the back of the bus, those in the know flock to the best piece of playground equipment.
Which is this sweet new 3-D spiderweb of ropes at Valley of the Moon park.
It took me back. I might have played on it a little bit afterwords..

Daily lesson? Forgiveness.
Friday evening, beautiful golden late evening light, downtown Anchorage with the above high school senior. What could go wrong?
Well someone could come along and launch a flying tackle at the large (expensive) light you just bought next to you. Crunch.
Broken gear? Not great. Slightly innebreated man running away laughing? No so much fun.
But this is the time to let go, and make photographs even better than before.

Spontieneity is a great thing. Being able to work with changing plans, weather, attitudes, and ideas is a whole different beast.
Identifying beauty in every situation, and then capturing it can be a challenge. Having tangible proof to show success is one of the most rewarding feelings: that validation of hard work is why photography is so great, and why I keep coming back.
Day after day.

Day One Hundred Forty Three - "Forward to the.. Future"
The future is.. well.. something that cannot be predicted. The mystery surrounding it is what keeps the hard work flowing and the dreams pouring, a waterfall with no end in sight.
Why not focus on the present.. the new trees, new leaves, warm weather, and the warm gooey sherbet that are midnight Alaskan sunsets.
